CrossFit LightHouse - Gym at 2549 Merrick Road, Bellmore, New York.

I was really scared to try CrossFit. I was once a college athlete, but that was more than a decade ago and I'm now woefully out of shape. My husband joined about 6 weeks before I did, and I saw BIG results in him during that time. He kept telling me that the owner, Dan, was a great trainer and the perfect blend of a drill sergeant/cheerleader/patient coach. I was afraid to join because of how out of shape I had become, but my husband insisted that everyone goes at their own pace and that the other members are friendly and supportive to newcomers. I don't like to admit this too often, but he was right! I've been going to CrossFit Lighthouse for a couple of months and while I'm still painfully out of shape, I've made a decent amount of progress. Dan and Amanda and the other coaches have been fantastic motivators, and they are careful to show me modifications and make sure that my form is correct so that I develop the correct muscle memory. Dan takes great pride in the gym - it's extremely clean and organized. Even though the workouts are way harder than anything I did in my college days, they're harder in a good way. My favorite thing about it is that it's constantly changing so you can never get bored! I'd highly recommend CF Lighthouse to anyone, don't be afraid!
